Appearing in this month’s issue of LaFleur’s Magazine, a top U.S. lottery trade publication, is an article about our recent strategic alliance with AmTote to offer Lottery and Tote System Integration (LATSI) services to lotteries around the world without cost to lottery agencies or state governments. Among other things, the article points out the historic marriage of lottery and horse racing.
“…consider if you will the…organic romance of racing and lottery. Indeed, the U.S. lottery industry sprung from the loins of the ‘Sport of Kings’ some 50 years ago. If the match-making duo of EquiLottery LLC and AmTote have their way, lottery and racing will soon reunite.”
The article also features excerpts of an extensive interview with AmTote president Steve Keech where he discusses the importance of expanding the racing industry’s base and the EquiLottery initiative’s ability to help both the racing and lottery industries.
“The lottery’s big advantage is that it has many points of presence. Additionally, the player base is larger and more loyal than in horse racing. However, easily growing a diverse multi-jurisdictional game portfolio seems to be problematic in the lottery world,” explained Keech. “In horse racing, AmTote’s greatest strength is in the area of globalizing pools. Our big problem is getting players to show up. The part of the EquiLottery proposition I find intriguing is that it recognizes that both sides need to participate within their own business models.”
